Continuous Happiness

My Journey

Growing up in South Korea under a post-authoritarian environment with strong and strict cultural influence never felt natural. Such a highly structured life steered me to consider the alternatives.

Witnessing various unexplainable healing events in hospitals while studying nursing science at EWHA Woman’s University made me realize the limitations of conventional medicine. It pushed me to study medicine from different perspectives. Undertaking Traditional Chinese Medicine and other energy modalities were not by accident.

Currently, I am a Registered Acupuncturist in BC and Licensed Acupuncturist in Texas, holding diplomates from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

I am also certified as a BodyTalk practitioner and as an Integrative Nutrition Health coach.

Why Elevated healing?

My practice is founded on the body’s innate wisdom to heal itself. As Dr. Bruce Lipton says, “Your biology is your biography.” Our bodies and their stories offer both clues and answers.

Cumulative education and life experiences are shared to empower my clients to find coherence in their mind, body, and life. Sessions are tailored to incorporate multiple modalities, including acupuncture, BodyTalk, and other consciousness-based methods. The process of discovery is liberating for many and a step toward a fulfilling path.

 About my name
홍연희

Through the wisdom of my parents, I am only trying to live up to my name, which translates to “Big continuous happiness.” A joyful heart brings healing to the body and mind, and I try my best to practice what I preach every day.

Author

Growing up in Korea, I never dreamt of writing except what was required of me; a school essay, email, or text, to name but a few. I was also afraid of dogs after a particularly scary experience. So, while writing and dogs seemed to be my nemesis, I could not imagine embracing the two. Yet several years ago, something very unique happened and forever changed my life. His name was Indi.

Under the mistaken assumption that I was tasked to care for him, I realized it was not long into our 9 1/2-year love affair that it was the other way around. The connection was genuine and felt deeper than any human bond. Ultimately, I felt compelled to share his story…in writing!
